JCPA Condemns Supreme Court Decision Overturning Roe v. Wade - Jewish Council for Public Affairs Jewish law states that a pregnant person's rights take precedence over an unborn potential person. A potential life which only becomes a person when emerging from the womb. Overturning Roe V. Wade violates a Jewish person's First Amendment right to practice our own religion. The Christian right is now legislating their own beliefs, and that is unconstitutional. Individual religious beliefs are not allowed in jurisprudence. That is unconstitutional. The last time I checked, the USA was not a Christian theocracy, and that is what is happening in the The USA. That's the GOP's goal. They've wanted Christian rule for a long time. Some of them have even admitted it. That is not going to happen in my USA.
